Help with Compiling from Source

Hi all. I know that when you compile from source, you have to unzip the Tar file by typing 'tar zxf (name of tar file)' then cd to the directory of the unzipped tar file, then type ./configure, then type make, then make install. However, I'm trying to install Plugger for Mozilla Firefox, and the problem seems to be when I type ./configure, i get this:

checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.

I'm stumped to say the least. Is there any way to fix this? I am running SuSe 9.3

Hi:
Because I don't use SuSE myself (I'm a Gentoo/Slackware user), I am not sure how YaST installs it,
but to compile anything in Linux you need the following essentials at least:

gcc
glibc
g++

And in most distributions it is classed under the Development category.
