help w/ installing quake2

I'm having trouble installing quake2. When I try to run ./quake2 I get:

[kanuuker@localhost Quake]$ ./quake2
Added packfile ./baseq2/pak2.pak (2 files)
couldn't exec default.cfg
couldn't exec config.cfg
Console initialized.

------- sound initialization -------
/dev/dsp: Broken pipe
Could not toggle.
Segmentation fault

Anyone know what's wrong or what I need to do?

Thanks.

Heah! Got the same proplem Guess It's Radeon fault or sth, since i got RideOn too ( What drivers R U using (I tried both DRI from 2.4.25 and 3.7 Fglrx from schneider). I also tried the NoCheat mod's (it's obligatory on Polish servers) at http://www.bryceinc.com/index.php?ma...nloads&type=dl
I replaced quake2 files from both tar.gz files from the website
It has it's own "ref_glx.so" which allows me to run the game with "./quake2 +set vid_ref glx" but it runs horribly slow (even my ping is approx 700 ms!). I guess even then it's not using the Radeon's glx but the Mesa's Indirect (!) one since I get this outpul on the initialization:

LoadLibrary("./ref_glx.so")
ref_gl version: GL 0.01
Using libGL.so for OpenGL...Initializing OpenGL display
...setting fullscreen mode 3: 640 480
Using XFree86-VidModeExtension Version 2.2
GL_VENDOR: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
GL_RENDERER: Mesa GLX Indirect
GL_VERSION: 1.3 Mesa 4.0.4

We gotta yell louder...
HEEEEEEELP! HEEEEEEEELP
