Help uninstalling Wine...I think I'm halfway there (rpm)

I want to uninstall, I really don't want it and think I screwed it up. :
On Red Hat 9 I tried:
rpm -e wine
rpm -e wine-20040505-1fc1winehq.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh(I think) wine-20040505-1fc1winehq.i386.rpm

The last one is just something I saw I the forum that I tried out of desperation . One of them must have done something because now 'wine' is an unrecognized command but when I do a locate wine I find all the directories (and windows junk) of wine. Could I just manually delete these directories and files and what did I do wrong?

Thanks in advance and just give a holler if you need clarification.

rpm -e wine should have removed it. rpm -Uvh wine..... would have upgraded it. I'd suggest rebuilding your rpm database and then rerunning rpm -e wine.

Grr, I tried rpm -v -v --upgradedb and it hangs...

# rpm -v -v --rebuilddb
D: rebuilding database /var/lib/rpm into /var/lib/rpmrebuilddb.6680
D: creating directory /var/lib/rpmrebuilddb.6680
D: opening old database with dbapi 3
D: opening db environment /var/lib/rpm/Packages joinenv
D: opening db index /var/lib/rpm/Packages rdonly mode=0x0

And then it just stops
