Help removing firejail/firetools slackware 14.2

Hello all I have been trying to wrap my head around this issue all night (i am also on call for work so having to troubleshoot other things in the interim too) I have noticed that since I installed firejail and was testing it that I somehow changed my system entirely. Now that I no longer have a use for it I am trying to remove it. I am running Slackware 14.2 as I said in the subject line. I have tried using
Code:

pkgtool
firejail never appears in the list same goes for
Code:

slackpkg clean-system
Now if I run firejail it drops me to the sandbox shell as it is supposed to do. However I want this removed from my system. I tried
Code:

slackpkg remove firejail
but to no avail. when i run
Code:

whereis firejail
i get the following
Code:

firejail: /usr/local/bin/firejail /usr/local/etc/firejail /usr/local/lib/firejail
It gets really interesting when I look at
Code:

slocate
it displays these results
Code:

Does the package show in the output of 'ls /var/log/packages | grep firejail' ?
If so, then 'removepkg <packagename>', as root, should work.
Mind you, 'pkgtool' should also have allowed this.

With 'slackpkg', check your /etc/slackpkg/blacklist file. Are you blacklisting packages from SBo? Do you have a custom entry for firejail?

If none of the above works, try reinstalling with 'upgradepkg --install-new --reinstall <packagename>' then uninstalling the package.

PS - Next time post in the Slackware forum. It is the official support site, as can be seen by running 'cat /etc/os-release'

It does not show when I check /var/log/packages. Somehow I am still able to run it. I checked in the locations where it is "installed" and it just doesn't show up, yet it still runs. I tried removing temp files thinking maybe there was something left in memory but no it just exists somehow. Even after a reboot. Apologies for not posting in the Slackware board I just thought this might be a better match since it was more software related than per the OS, if that makes any sense.

No apology necessary; you will get distro specific advice at the Slackware forum.

Have you tried the reinstall and uninstall? It appears that there was a problem with your last uninstall.

How did you originally install the program(s)? Did you compile from sources, install by using *.run script, install from a repository such as Slackbuilds.org, or use some other method?

Looks as though it was from Slackbuilds.org
