Help please.., teach me how to instal and confihure amp in my slackware


dear all...,
iam a very new bee in linux, i use a slackware 10.0, i wan to install amp (apache, mysql and php) manual and with source software, i have :
1.httpd-2.2.0(apache web server)
2.mysql-5.0.20
3.php-5.1.2

question..:
* how can i install and configure that software, please guide me step by step because i very very newbee, for your help i will very apreciate, thanx for everybody, should help me.

Do you know if you have source code or binaries for those packages? Packages in slackware usally have the extention .tgz; if it's a source package it usually has 'src' somewhere in the filename, if not it's probably a binary. If the packages' extension is .tar.gz or something similar then you probably have source packages again. It's rather important to know the which they are because the installations are quite different.

I have package with extension *.tar.gz not *.tgz, :
1.httpd-2.2.0.tar.gz(apache web server)
2.mysql-5.0.20.tar.gz
3.php-5.1.2.tar.gz

Instructions on compiling, installing, and configuring apache are found here. Just skip the download step, since you already have the package.

Instructions on compiling, installing and configuring php are found here. Just skip the bit about installing apache, you should already have done that according to the other instructions.

Instructions on compiling, installing and configuring MySQL are found here.

Be sure that you really have source packages before trying these instructions. If you don't see "make" and "configure" files after you burst those tarballs check the sites I listed for binary installation instructions. Also, considering looking up documentation on your software in the future, it will save a lot of time and hassel waiting around a message board for someone to reply.
