HELP!! OpenGL support for ATI equipped Toshiba Laptop?

I have a Toshiba 1755 Laptop. According to the manual, this laptop has an "ATI Mobility-C graphics controler, 64-bit data bus width, BitBLT hardware, AGP, Alpha-Blending, Direct 3D, OpenGL support; 4 MB external video memory."

Having said that, linux autoconfigs it as a RAGE MOBILITY, but I don't seem to have DRI support. I have tried using RAGE MOBILITY P/M, but that dosen't seem to work either. I cannot seem to find much information on Rage Mobility-C cards.

Here is the output from glxinfo:

Here is the output from glxgears"

Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
425 frames in 5.0 seconds = 85.000 FPS
480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 96.000 FPS
400 frames in 5.0 seconds = 80.000 FPS

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but 96 FPS seems awful slow for an OpenGL enabled AGP card.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve performance?

Well, this is not a super-fast 3D card; it has 4MB of memory!! I don't know why you'd even be worrying about speed, as you won't be playing any (decent) 3D games on it.

Cheers!

Honestly Bluephile,

I don't know why you even wasted your time with a reply if that's all you had to say. It may not be a very fast card, but it's all I can afford at the moment. And who said anything about games? If I want to play games, I wouldn't have sold my PS2. I just want DRI support for OpenGL to work for some of the screensavers. Quake, Shmake. Thanks for nothing.
