Download these files:

MPlayer-0.90.tar.bz2
win32codecs.tar.bz2
font-arial-cp1250.tar.bz2
Blue-1.0.tar.bz2

then as root:

tar -jxvf MPlayer-0.90.tar.bz2
tar -jxvf win32codecs.tar.bz2
tar -jxvf font-arial-cp1250.tar.bz2
tar -jxvf Blue-1.0.tar.bz2

chown -R root.root win32codecs
mv win32codecs /usr/lib/win32

cd MPlayer-0.90
./configure --target=i386-linux --enable-gui --with-win32libdir=/usr/lib/win32/
make
make install

cd ..
chown -R root.root Blue
mv Blue /usr/local/share/mplayer/Skins/default

chown -R root.root cp1250
mv cp1250/arial-14/* /usr/local/share/mplayer/font/

Well... I like to compile them by myself instead using rpm, since rpm often make troubles like you have...

And oh... be sure to have all needed headers and library, you can find the rpm at one of RH8 cds, and the headers are at *devel* packages...
