help me to open Xserver on rhlinux9
 
please anyone give a solution,when iam trying to open xwindow on redhat linux 9 ie.when i type "startx" on commandline iam getting a message "Waiting for Xserver to shutdown"...
when i installed linux it worked very well but from past 2 days iam getting that message.can any one give a solution..

Type runlevel to check what runlevel you are at. Runlevel 5 (five) means you already ave X running. Switch to X by hitting Ctrl+Alt+F7.

iam running at runlevel 3

as root, type telinit 5...this should autostart the xserver and put your machine in graphical mode
