Thumbs up Help me to do programming in linux


I m learning BCA Bachelor in Computer Apllication 2007 India..

i would like to know which languages are inbulit in linux OS.

Which are "inbuilt"? Don't really get that...

Well, Java, Python, Perl and C++ can all be used in Linux. Read a lot, there is no shortage of programming tutorials on the net.

See here for info about the GNU Compiler Collection. Aditionally you have lots of scripting languages.

Edit: Baaaaad typo: GNU read Gnu before :P

If you consider that the OS is the kernel + the basic utilities, then the only "built-in" language is the shell--eg BASH.

Compilers and Interpreters can be added for just about any of the common languages.

What do you need to do? What language do you need? Is this homework?
