Does anyone know how to install a new sendmailv8.12.4 under linux ?
And Does anyone know how to add a contents filter to sendmail ?
Thank you very much!
The standard install is:
download the source file (with .tar.gz extension)
copy it to /usr/local/src (or another safe location you can compile it)
unpack it using
tar zxvvf filename
enter the directory created (cd directoryname)
./configure
make
make install
After you unpack it, there should be a file README describing the installation.
NOTE: You need to be root to do "make install". So before this, type su, you'll be asked about root password, enter it and then you can run "make install".
