Hi there!, I have a problem, I was installing Arch Linux for second time in a virtual machine with virtual box, I made the partitions but when I had to put "pacstrap /mnt base base-devel" give me an error:
Error: failed retrieving file 'core.db'
Please help me, I was reading about that problem but I didn't understand what I have to do.

Be more specific. Otherwise, people will suggest solutions that you have already read without understanding them. Or most likely, nobody will suggest anything, because nobody knows what confuses you.

Which document have you read, and which paragraphs/sentences/commands do you have trouble understanding? What have you tried to do so far?

Have you a working network connection?
Please try to check your network connection by using
Code:
ping archlinux.org
.
If you have a working connection then you might have to edit /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and remove problem causing mirrors.

You should check for virtual machine manager, whether it is allowing network connection to machine?

Welcome to LQ.

Please use subject lines that are more communicative than "Help Me." Something like "'Error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' when installing Arch Linux," for example. The more descriptive your subject line, the more likely someone who can help you will read your post.

If you have not done so, you might want to read this: https://www.linuxquestions.org/linux...Ask_a_Question

are you following archwiki's installation instructions to the dot?
where are you stuck?
a lot more context is required.
if all this is over your head, then don't use archlinux. simple as that. no need for masochism.
