Question Help installing Nessus on Mandrake 10

Hello everyone!
I'm running Mandrake 10 on a MS Virtual Server, and looking to install Nessus on it. I have found all kinds of packages for it, but they all give me a long list of dependencies that I need to fulfill. Is there an easy way? When I run rpmdrake I get this cryptic error:
"It's impossible to retrieve the list of new packages from the media 'update_source'. Either this update media is misconfigured, and in this case you should use the Software Media Manager to remove it and re-add it in order to reconfigure it, or it is currently unreachable and you should retry later. "
It's been this way for several days, so I don't think the issue is temporary as the second possibility suggests.

If there is a better way to install Nessus than through the rpmdrake interface? If not, how can I get past this pesky problem?
Thank you in advance!

So I have decided instead to compile the dang thing from source. Anyone have a nice, n00b-friendly process that I should follow?

*BUMP*
All right folks, after being frustrated by no success with compiling from source, I've decided to go with installing just the daemon on this system, and I will access its functionality from a remote machine. Can anyone get me started?

i'm having same problem, both with the rpm sources and with nessus. i have partially fixed the first one by creating a new ftp media from media manager
ftp://jungle.metalab.unc.edu/pub/Lin...586/media/main as URL
and media_info/hdlist.cz as relative path. (you can do that yourself by going with a ftp client on the mirror links provided by the updates menu, find out what is wrong(they usually change the directory structure) and add by yourself a good ftp source that you can use to get all available updates and missing packets)

for the nessus problem i'm still struggling to download libpango, libatk and glib that nessus requires to build it's Gui. i'll be back if things go as planned. (i could not compile the atk pango etc sources because of mandrake missing g++ !!! stupid )

Much better solution found:
Just boot the system that you want to run the daemon from a Knoppix-STD iso.
I have it running now and the daemon is up. I just connect to the daemon remotely with NessusWX.
