help installing Mint 13 kde 64 bit.
I am having trouble intalling linux mint 13 kde.
I was attempting to help someone that resized there partitions to make more room for win 7.
They erased ubunto and upon start up recieved this,
ERROR: no such parttion exists, grub rescue>_
Now I enter my desktop start up menu f10 to figure out what can be done. I receved received the same message. I changed nothing.
I had him reinstall ubuntu and it worked, He dual boots fine and has access to win 7 again.
However, I installed mint 14kde 64 bit. It also worked fine and I was able to access win 7. but it made a partition instead of installing over ubuntu which I also had.
so I figured to resize the partition and remove ubunto and reinstall Mint. I now have same error as before,
but now I dont have the same choices of stallation.
I can now install mint on full install or manually.
I dont have the choice to to chose where. I believe the space in now unallocated.
I need some help how to install manually.
seems I have to add the install to the free space? DO i use primary or logical for the new partition? the program chose logical.
the partition size is 133070 mb
location of the new partition.. beginning? or should I chose end.
The file system ext4 journaling file system. This what the program chose.
and do I need a mount point??
Hp amd quad core w/ win 7
as stated before mint 13 worked very nicely prior to owner operator error.
