hi all

i am about to install php on my redhat system
but i need to install libpng first
i have already installed everything else necessary and that i want
but this one is confusing me

basically, i installed zlib just with ./configure
so it went to default location

now how do i "configure", make, libpng to be installed in the right place?

also, i have these packages

libpng-1.2.2-20
libpng-devel-1.2.2-20
libpng10-1.0.13-11
libpng10-devel-1.0.13-11

i tried to remove them with the package manager
but it said some mozilla thing needed to be installed
there are a heap of packages that are dependent on the libpng as well
i just want to install lib 1.2.7 on my system
i prolly don't need any of the other crap
can anyone help me
