Help installing Adobe Acrobat with Ubunto 8.04 and lastest Firefox version.

Hello,
I'm a real newbie when it comes to Linux and I'm looking for some help. I downloaded the must current version of Ubuntu Linux v 8.04 and decided after the install that I wanted to use adobe reader when reading PDF files instead of the PDF reader that comes with Ubuntu. I had no problems finding and installing Adobe Reader but found that it did not hook into the version of Firefox that was part of Ubuntu. I have subsequently found quite a number of posts on the web regarding the install of Adobe Reader but it seems that all of these posts refer to older versions of Ubuntu and/or older versions of Adobe Reader and/or Firefox. If someone that has figured out how to perform this type of installation on using the latest and greatest versions of the software could you give me the newbie instructions on how to get this setup on my machine?

Thanks.

It should be in the repositories.
Have you tried applications - add/remove
select: show all
search for "adobe acrobat"
select it and click "apply"

That should set it as the default applications. You shouldn't install software any other way, except for some rare exceptions.
I personally much prefer evince over the adobe reader. It takes 1/10th of the time to start up and seems to act smarter in general :)
