help install vmware-tools on suse
 

hi im new to linux and need help installling vmware tools im using a mac as the host machine. ive installed tools on ubuntu but the process is differnet for suse any help would be appreciated

What version of Suse are you using? 10.2, 10.3, 11.0, etc?

If you are installing opensuse 11.0 as guest, then it will install open source version of vmware tools which is fine. I tried removing it and it isn't as easy as it should be, so I've left it be and it's running fine.

Otherwise, this page should help. Also, SUSE has its own forum that is very useful as a starting point. If they can't answer your question over there, then post it here.

P.S. I have had problems with 10.3 vmware rc scripts not working properly. If you ever have a problem where it's hanging on starting/stopping vmware services, post here and I can help you with a work around.
