Help I'm trying to build a webserver
Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the best and easiest Linux based software is to use to build a webserver. I'm a noob when it comes to linux, so please bare with me.
Also are there any tut's on the net that can walk me through this process.

Try using one of the easier to learn distributions at first, such as Fedora or Ubuntu. Take a look at Apache for use as your web server software. It's probably not going to be easy to get it setup the way you want it to be the first time around, but Apache is such a ubiquitous piece of software on the Internet today, it's almost essential that you know how to install/configure/manage it.

What version of Mandrake? Check out Mandriva, it's what Mandrake turned into.

I concur with abegetchell. Apache is the reference for Linux based web servers.
Tomcat (also from Apache project) is an alternative. Can work both standalone and in conjunction with Apache.
Check out http://www.apache.org for info.
Most distros come with some version of Apache's httpd (web server).
