Help - Firefox doesn't work


Hello everybody.

Today my web browser stop to work properly and I cannot fix the problem. If you know what's happened or what I should do, please reply.

robin@ubuntu:~$ firefox
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_object_compat_control

Sounds like a Symbolic link issue did you try to reinstall? (Mozilla-Firefox)

Did you installed firefox from package?
Did you installed libraries from package?

I have already tried to reinstall Firefox and also instalation is from packages include libraries. A result is still the same:
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_object_compat_control

If you are sure you have the latest versions you can send a bugreport to the Debian Firefox maintainers (the address is specified in the package description).
I (and a number of my friends) use Firefox from the archive provided by Mozilla.org themselves. It contains most libraries embedded, probably it would be a good idea to install it from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Sorry, I thought you use Debian
Of course you should report a bug to the maintainers of your distro's package
