HELP- endless loop

So I had the old Nvidia Drivers installed (from like a month ago), and the new Drivers came out yesterday. So I ran the install script and it ran successfully. I didnt bother to edit the XF86config file, because it was already edited from before.

Well, I have the computer set to start up GDM for the logon. But for some reason, the drivers didnt install right, and now when the computer starts up, it goes strait into trying to boot X, but obviously it wont boot up, and it gives me an error, and then when I kill X, it keeps trying to automatically boot into X. I cant seem to stop it.

How can I stop X from booting for Login and go to the text login, so I can edit my config file. HELP!

Thanks.

on lilo, press esc and run "linux init 3" assuming your defulat linux boot is called linux. on grub e to edit, and add init 3 in there somewhere.
