help determining foomatic printer error

Hi all,

I have a Brother HL-2040 printer which is known for good compatibility with Linux. It's been relatively good to me, however I am getting an error trying to print a specific page which has a graph on it.

When it goes to process that page, it stops printing, and CUPS shows the job as haulted. I check the cups error_log file and find this:
Code:

E [20/Jan/2008:17:17:33 +0000] PID 29684 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip) stopped with status 3!
E [20/Jan/2008:17:17:33 +0000] [Job 42] Job stopped due to filter errors.

Does anyone know what might cause this? The graph is embedded in a PDF file which I am trying to print.

Thanks!
George

Without additional debug information it is impossible to provide any meaningful help. The Ubuntu forums have similar problems that might help you.

Edit the cupsd.conf file. Search for the line LogLevel and change it to debug. Restart cups, Try printing your page again and post the error log.
