when i try to dowload aim from aim.com i cant download the rpm file, am i doing sumthing wrong? thx bi! (BI THE WAY DO NOT SAY TO GET GAIM I DONT FRICKEN WANT IT)

First and foremost, the subject of your post implies absolutely nothing about the text/problem it contains. That doesn't help your case, and will likely cause people just to gloss over it.

What happens when you click the link to download? What distribution are you using? What browser are you using? Let us know what you are running so that we can help you out.

Wow. That's one of the shortest, worst typed, rudest, most AOLish first post I have seen in a long time.

Having tested the downloads, it seems that only the .tgz link works. Which means that someone on the site dropped the ball and didn't link the links to the packages.

The problem is with the site and not with your distribution.

i go to www.aim.com and go to the linux download. i read the instructions but they were no help, and when i click to download the rpm it tries to open it with realplayer.

Right click in the link and click save as or 'save link as' or whatever it is for the browser you're using.

Yeah, it is unfortunate that real player has the same extension...

If you right click and 'save as', you get a file called 'linker.js'. As I said before, only the .tgz links actually work. Send a report to the webmaster.
