I would like to have some suggestions on HD monitoring software for Linux systems. Not the typical SMART monitoring though. Looking for more of a 'write' tracking software for the hard disks on mail servers. I have had issues with my mail servers HD becoming full in a matter of 24 hours on multiple occasions. This type of software will help me correspond times with what is being written and saved to the HD. Thanks in advance.
Depends what you want to know.
If per process, I suggest you look at collectl - will tell you I/O rates if taskstats is enabled in the kernel. If per I/O per device maybe blktrace - pretty heavyweight though. More a diagnostic.
