hcitool

I need to get the hcitool on my backtrack linux 4 cd rom. I have a full version of linux 4 but everytime I need to use the bluetooth to pair with my 3g phone it gives me a device not found error, it also says the hcitool device could not be found or not installed. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE GET ME A COPY OF THE HCITOOL /USR/BIN/HCITOOL SO i COULD LOAD IT TO MY CD ROM TO USE IT IN BLUETOOTH.

1) First : Backtrack 4 is a forensic live cd,
not really meant to connect to anything.

2) And it is old, based on the 3 year old Ubuntu 8.10.
The current version is Backtrack 5.

3) All 'bluez' packages are present, and so is /usr/bin/hcitool :
a) dpkg --get-selections | grep bluez
b) ls /usr/bin/hcitool

4) Things cannot be added to the cdrom.
But if a file /dev/<dev> isn't present, you can do like :
cd /dev && ./MAKEDEV fd0

5) The reason for your bluetooth errors can also be a bug in Bluez :
Use Backtrack 5 instead.

I did download the backtrack linux 5 version on my PC it took 2 1/2 hours. now my computer is asking me what program or software do I want to open the downloaded version of backtrack 5. I have msword, internet explorer, adobe reader etc. Can you please let me know how I can open this downloaded version of backtrack 5 to run on my PC, also if not can I save this downloaded version to a cd rom just as it is and run it from the cd rom.

Presumably you downloaded an ISO image of the distribution. You'll need to burn it to a CD (or DVD, depending on what you downloaded), but making sure you choose the "burn image" option (or similar) in your burning software.
