having problem after installing AMBER9.0

Dear all
i have installed AMBER9.0 in my machine(only the serial version). but i am unable to show the path. every time i open a new terminal i have to type following two commands

export AMBERHOME=/usr/local/amber8
export PATH=$PATH:$AMBERHOME/exe

after going through above two commands the program runs well.

if i don't use these comands it shows error massages. i am unable to connect the path. i have transfered all the executables from /usr/local/amber9/exe/ to /usr/local/bin/. but it still not working.
also tried changing .bash_profile file by adding PATH=$PATH:$AMBERHOME/exe. but still not working.

please help.
