Having Issue w/ Truetype fonts - Mozilla Issue

I am having an odd issue.. I am trying to get my truetype fonts installed. I run SuSE 9.0 with XD2 Pro. When I install the fonts I notice my Mozilla and FIrebird show no fonts.

Heres what I do..

I Put my fonts in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/

Then I run SuSEconfig --module fonts

once I reboot, my fonts work and ooo sees them ok, but if I launch Mozilla or Firebird it shows no text.. See http://www.spazmataz.net/ooo/screenshot1.png

So to fix.. I go into /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/ and do a rm * and then run SuSEconfig --module fonts and I am back to normal.

Any Ideas?

Have you tried messin with the fonts in Moz preferences? Change defaults and see if anything is visible. Also - as a test, try hi-lighting some text in the browser window to make sure it's not some funky white text on whot background issue.

I tried all that.. its something with Moz and TrueType Fonts.. its not just that its going to white or anything like that.. I tried 5 sets of various fonts in the preferences but nothing happened...

Edit: ((new info))

I went into SuSE control center, and used the "ADD" feature under the
fonts manager and it seems to have fixed everything.

My ooo is now using truetype fonts and my mozilla is working..

I guess doing it via command doesn't do something, the gui seemed to do
the trick, For me atleast..

Thanks all who helped :)

Mmmm. Yeah SuSE can do that to ya sometimes :) IIRC there was a generic "I'm finished making a bunch of changes now tell the SuSE setup to refresh all the pertitnent data files and restart any dependant services" but I can't remember the name of it, and I'm sure it's changed names and strcture over the years.
