Have you ever seen this error?

Warning
The kernel was unable to re-read the partition table on /dev/hdg (Device or recource busy). This means Linux knows nothing about any modifications you made. You should reboot your computer before doing anything with /dev/hdg.

I don't think my device is busy I have tried re-doing this over and over and it's not working.... btw I have 2 125 gig hd's do you think I need some kind of Driver or something.... I installed freebsd and it worked fine now I am trying this and I got that... any help?

I got a similar error on a very old machine a day... this mean nothing 'cept that Linux was not able to reload your hd partition table on the fly. Reboot and it will be fine I think. It may be a problem with your BIOS or maybe because that your linux kernel has some problems with an HD that big.

well search on google for an utility to do a "low-level format".
but this is not really used, it takes a while and you should not need it.

well what do you want to do?
using fdisk to remove partition table then formating newly created partition is enought most of time.
