Have an easy way to install the latest Internet Explorer in Xubuntu?
 

I'm running Xubuntu 15.10. (see screenshot) I looked for how to install the latest version of Internet Explorer and a lot of what I found was old and very complicated-looking. (Like installing wine cabextract etc.) (I am not a computer whiz.) Can somebody tell me (or give me a link) a straightforward way to install it? Thanks.

Internet Explorer is a windows program and will only run in linux under wine if it will run at all. Why do you want to use Internet Explore instead of chrome or firefox? playonlinux may be easier to get IE working

Short answer: You don't. Anything after IE 8 won't work in Wine or can't even be installed. If you really need IE you will have to install Windows, either native or in a virtual machine.

You should also be aware that MS has deprecated IE in the latest Win 10 OS and is using 'Edge' as their browser of the future. IE 11 is still included in the install if you absolutely need it. Just as others have said, your best bet is either a VM or a dual boot.
As an aside - both my aged desktop and my equally old laptop failed over the holidays and I bought a cheap win 10 laptop for interim use until I can purchase better hw in time for the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS release. [Blasphemy]Edge and Win 10 are surprisingly nice.[/Blasphemy]

I hope that you have read the EULA, so that you at least know that you have signed your right to privacy away.

One way was to grab a native install along with the registry and add it to wine. Not sure why newer programs can't work in wine however.

I find it quaint and amusing that you actually believe that there actually IS still something called privacy in today's digital world. There are of course common sense things one should do with ANY OS or browser to help in that regard.

With Linux and a bit of common sense you at least have the chance to privacy. Regarding the article you linked to, Microsoft does not allow to disable all their spying settings on consumer systems (you only get that chance on enterprise systems, since enterprise systems don't fit in Microsoft's new strategy of collecting data and selling ads) and you will have to check if they are still like you want them to be after each and every update, they have already "accidentally" reverted these settings when installing updates.

Internet Explorer--bad. LOL Geez, I still thought it was viable. Not that I care, but I would like to see what my website looks like on IE as well as Firefox and Chrome. (I can do it on another computer, though.) Thanks for saving me miles of headaches!

Just so that you're aware, Microsoft's EULA for IE prohibits its use unless you have a valid Windows license for the versions (of Windows) mentioned in it. Please see here and here. The only thing I'm not sure is if this means that you can only install on a Windows OS or if you can install on other OS's like Linux as long as you have a valid license number to a copy of Windows that you happen to own. You would need to contact Microsoft to find out which applies. ;)
