hardware software


i was looking for a good program that shows cpu temp, fan speeds, and other hardware information. I noticed from other peoples' screenshot that has a sidebar that shows all this information. I want to be able to download it for myself thanks in advance

There's a program called "GKrellM" which displays some info about your system like cpu load, disk space, machine name, bandwith usage, etc.

thanks, this is exactly what i wanted. this is the sidebar that i was seeing on everyone machines. thank man!

also, how do you like the new slackware 10.0? is it worth the upgrade or not.

gdesklets and superkaramba also do some of this, and have some stylish transparent themes etc..

slackware 10 is worth the upgrade, if you like staying up to date. There's a lot of security fixes and stuff.
It's very stable, also. I've been staying on current for a while and have had 0 problems.
