Hardware / Setup tracking

Its gotten to the point at my place of work where its really hard to keep track of what servers have what configurations. (OS, Kernel version, IPs (internal and external), Harddrives (what kind / how many), RAM (speed and amount), Mounted filesystems (such as NFS), etc etc). Anybody know of a program for tracking these types of things before I break open mysql and php and make one myself? Or maybe an open source project I might be able to hack to get the kind of tracking I want?

Any Help would be well... Helpfull

Since this is a common problem I feel there must be at least a couple of open source projects to solve this. Start out by browsing and searching at Freshmeat, it usually yields pretty good results. Or start your own project and publish it on Sourceforge.
