Hard disk installation of a live cd

I started using this live linux cd called Elive, which does not have an option to install it to the hard drive. After a while of using I really liked it and wanted to somehow get it installed. I have tried one method which didnt work, but i have a feeling that with some tweaking it might boot. Any help would be appreciated.

(on my computer, hda1 is a 512mb swap partition and hda2 is an empty 9.5gb ext2 partition)

After booting it, I tried:

dd if=/dev/scd0 of=/dev/hda2
(/dev/scd0 is the cdrom drive)

the command finished without errors, but i couldnt get the system to boot.

If anyone knows a way (however complicated it may be) to get this live distro installed and running on my hard drive, please let me know. thanks.

Elive is not only a liveCD, but it also is a debian based distribution that can be installed in the harddisk.
Maybe they have a newer version than what you have.

You can install elive 0.3. Using the e16 desktop, go to the control center there you will find an option to install elive to hard disk.
