Hang on boot 2.6.10 after scripts load
Hi everyone,
I've been using precompiled kernels, but now i want to have my kernel working, so i built my 2.6.10
It all went good, except for a huge problem regarding boot-time, making my kernel effectively useless.
Everything boots fine, it finds hardware, it synces and connects my ADSL modem, starts my iptables script (which dispalys: "The firewall is up" as a result of the last "echo" command in the script) and then it stops.
it just stops.
I can't make it give me my text login (i was used to the textual login, after wich i used to type startx and be an happy person)...
it's like it hangs, maybe waiting for the S99iptables script to give him a all clear. But why then with the 2.6.8 that came with my debian the same script worked???
Any ideas?
thank you very much and sorry for my english.
Bye
EDIT: i tried removing the firewall script, but it hung anyway! even removing all the last 3 scripts loading, hung!
I came to think it is some stange issue with the kernel, which is unable to create a login after the last script is finished!
