I did look there first and did not find anything of interest regarding this particular parameter. Since this happens for multiple KDE programs, I felt this might be more of a generalized KDE font size specification rather than user or application specific. As I said, there is no way to change the size of this font independent of changing the "general" font size in KDE Control Center. If general is set at "Tahoma 8", then this font is "Tahoma 6" which is too small. I can increase the general font to 9 point which will change this small font to 7 point, but I don't want my general use fonts that large. (Ya, I'm picky

I have checked most of the *rc files in the /opt/kde tree and have not seen anything there either. That does not mean it is not there though.
I thought I might try editing /etc/fonts/fonts.conf and including an alias section that would effectively set a minimum font size for the desktop, much like in browsers. Not sure if that will work though.
