I kinda figured as much for that post, but it's all still painful to read. I mean I can understand the occasional typo or misspelling,we all do that on occasion. but the one letter representations of words, etc. Aaack!!!!

I guess I should just be happy there were no numbers used in place of letters..

There are 2 problems here, & 2 fixes, easier 1st:
  1. Butchering the language --
This one is easy, LQ has a rule against posting in any language but English. So just define "l33t" & "chatspeak" as not English, & the problem is solved. If I thought it wouldn't bother the Mods, I would would say report such posts as breaking the rules.

  2. Less than Scandinavian & educated native speaker command of the language --
This one is more difficult. It would be nice if LQ could add a mechanism to gently educate those who are receptive in better English. Unfortunately, every way I can think up takes too much time, clutters the thread w/ OT corrections, &/or requires add'l programming. The least intrusive I can think of is a group of "Language Moderators" who would be allowed to edit posts for spelling, grammar, etc.

Oh, & making "Spell Check" mandatory along w/ making " i " an impossible entry would cure one if my pet peeves.

Did I just hijack a thread? My bad .
Nah, it deserved it.

Type out what you mean to say, and quit using this gibberish. it makes you look like an immature script kiddie wannabe, but then again if that is how you truly wish to be percieved by your peers, who am I to say different.

hmmm, see post number 3:)
