Hacked while playing BZFlag?


Whoo that's a relif i have no data loss!
But last time My Suse linux 9.1 installation was booting.
Dunno why but I like 2 watch the booting (press F2 to see all the commands being run) and now know it pays off to watch it! i notice it mounted some remote file system! some weird site forget where. Don't wanna boot it again
currently using xp home to post this

Can anyone help?

Disconnect it from the Internet.

Then boot and look over your log files. That is a start. If you come across any strange connections in the logs it might give you a better place to work from to figure out what they did. Best bet if you know you have been 0wn3d is to backup your data and reinstall.

My machine crashed (sometimes does while playing BZflag on linux) i rebooted than noticed the strange startup entry
What do you mean by owned?
turned into a mass mailing zombie or something?
i have no data of value on my linux partition only my ntfs partitions which have all our photos!
Where are the log files?

Log files for SuSE are in /var/log
I believe the one you'll be looking for is boot.msg

Does owned mean my root password was changed from a six character dictionary word followed by 1 not exacttly the most secure thing you've heard of!
