I have a multiboot system with different distributions and installed and run Gwenview on some of them.
Noticed there must be a problem with Gnome 3 and Cinnamon depending which version of Gwenview is installed.
What worked were:
Gwenview version KDE development platform
Linux Mint Debian 4.11.3 4.11.3
Aptosid 4.14.0 pre 4.14.0
Mint 12.04 Cinnamon 2.8.5 4.8.5
Mint 12.04 Mate 2.8.5 4.8.5
Debian stable, in gnome 2.8.4 4.8.4
Fedora 20 KDE 4.13.1 4.13.3
Fedora 20 Mate 4.13,1 4.13.3
What did not work were:
Mint 17 Cinnamon 4.13.1 4.13.3
Ubuntu 14.04 4.14.0 pre 4.14.0
Zorin 8 4.11.4 4.11.5
and in Fedora 20 for cinnamon and gnome
In all these cases who did not work properly the menubuttons in fullscreen mode
”hide sidebar” and ”add filter” in the left downside corner are visible only when hovering the mouse over them and the others (folder, information, operations) in the sidebar are greyed out.
They are still operational, though.
There is a video I found on internet that shows this bug in action, see:
