GUI Midi Player

I need a GUI Midi Player that lets me silence one or several tracks/voices so I can choose which voices I want to hear.
The stuff I have found in my repos isn't doing what I want or I can't figure out how. Maybe I just wasn't using the right keywords in my search?
Ideally it would be found in Ubuntu repositories, or at least there's a .deb package available.
For Windows, there's a program called VanBasco Karaoke Player that does exactly what I want, so what's a good Linux equivalent?

Rosegarden is a good one that I use and is similar to Cakewalk in Windoze.

You forgot to mention that it wants Jack audio - which is not the default sound server for most distros, and often installing another one messes with the system configuration.
Also something about DSSI plugins that I don't understand, apparently to get sound, I need to install something else too, but it's not very specific about it. I can't tell from the descriptions in the package manager whether that package is what I need or not.

You wouldn't happen to know one that is fine with Pulse audio?

What plays Midi files?

Hi,
So there's been a long silence, but I can't imagine there is no solution for my use case. Anyone? Please?
