Gui based firewall/router and mail server in Fedora core 1
I am a total newbie to linux and would like to set up a firewall router and mail server to protect my home network (currently connected to the internet by Dlink Router to an NTLworld cable modem) and free me from all the stupid spam I keep getting.
My current setup is as follows :-
RedHat Fedora core 1 (tried others like Lycoris,Knoppix, mandrake)
P3-700 256MB Ram
2 Network cards
Think I'm getting somewhere with the firewall/router, found 2 programs called Gaurddog and Guidedog which seems very easy to use and are GUI based.
However, totally confused with the mail system and all those 3 letter names - MTA, MUA etc..
Basically I want a gui system (easy to set up and maintain) that periodically retrieves my mail from the ntlworld pop3 accounts, checks for spam and deletes and bounces offending items, checks for viruses and then stores them by account user until my windows machines ask for the email through outlook. i.e. change my outlook accounts to request mail from my linux box rather than direct from the ntlworld accounts.
I have seen some distributions like ClarkConnect which seem to indicate it does exactly what I want, but I also want to experiment with linux at the same time and possibly extend its functions further like using it for downloading from p2p as it will always be switched on, while the windows machines won't be.
Thanks in advance
Graham
