gtk2 behavior in kde...

I primarily uses kde, but I also run such gtk app as gaim and firefox. When I launch them after login to kde, they don't pick up any font/color of gtk2. But if I launch gnome-fonts-properties at this point, both of them would change font/color immediately to the setting in gnome. Is this default behavior? Even I am using kde, is it possible to gtk2 app to behave as if they are in gnome? Thanks

Have you installed gtk2-engines-gtk-qt ?

What you say about appearance turning right when you start gnome-font-properties is common behaviour. But undesired.

I have the idea that the Qt and Gtk engines clash all the time. I solved my problem by installing gtk2-engines-gtk-qt. I choose for having gtk apps KDE style, but if I am not mistaken you also can opt for keeping gtk styles.
