gtk+ 2.4 Installation - black screen
 

HAi,

I want to install Gtk+2.4 or above package in my RH9 system.
I tried installing it but after installation and rebooting, the welcome screen asking for user name won't appear.
A dark balck screen appears and I reinstalled Linux.

I tried the follwing and got the same result.

(i) gtk+2.4.0
(ii) gtk+2.4.14
(iii) gtk+2.6.0

Please give me a solution to install gtk+2.4 on my redhat 9 system . Urgent .
