GSPICE GUI on Fedora-10

I've installed GSPICE on Fedora-10 successfully, it looks right and loads circuit files, but the 'nodes' and 'components' columns are greyed-out and the tutorial I'm looking at suggests I need to click on a component. Any idea why please? The only thing I've thought of so far is to check that the circuit file is read/write.
