Grubconf Problem on Puppy

I tried doing the Puppy install in both Superfloopy and regular modes. I always run into a problem at the Grubconfig stage. The defult install directory (/dev/hda) comes up as being "not linux."

Puppy told me to install in MBR, however when I tack it to the end of hda with a (/dev/hda/MBR), it still doesn't work. The same goes when I just enter MBR.

What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks!

Why are you attaching /MBR ? I don't think that's necessary. Here's mine for example:

Quote:
title=Gentoo Linux 2.6.17.7-6
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/bzImage-2.6.17-gentoo-r7-6 root=/dev/hda3 video=vesafb:mtrr:3,ywrap,1024x768-32@70

I put that on there because the installer suggested it. It doesn't work when I have it like yours but with HDA1 instead of HDA3.

Are you sure hda1 is your root parition? That is usually most people's /boot. Double check your parition scheme.
