grub takes long time to load


I am using dual boot system with Ubuntu 8.10 and Windows XP SP3 on an Intel Core2 Duo processor...
When I start or reboot my system, Grub takes very much time to load. Around 45 secs after switching on my system. I think this is not the usual case, as I saw in some other similar system where grub loaded very much fast.

Please give me a solution

Take a look at the boot messages for any pointers.
You could try to disable unwanted services.
You should find some pointers at
