I see several Pre-failed and Old_age in your WHEN FAILED column. If I read this correct it does say that your drive is about to die.

Those are actually predictions your drive is making telling you it's about to fail. This is on a hardware level, so there isn't anything you can do about it, apart from backing up your data as soon as possible.

Yeah, usually for everage PC user HD starts to fail after 6 years or so.

It happened to me not so long ago.

You can find SMART attributes chart list here to better understand this errors.

Look on the bright side, HDs are not so expensive these days.

I got a new HD and that fixed the problem! It was indeed a failing hardware issue. Thank you for all of your help.
