GRUB LILO boot floppy
Does anyone know how to make a GRUB floppy or LILO floppy that can boot up and use a kernel on an external USB drive rather that one on the internal drives or on the floppy itself.
For GRUB I have manged to make the boot floppy and I can get it too boot the PC, using a GRUB install from my internal HD, but I want it to boot up a Linix install which exists on an external USB drive. How does GRUB reference an external USB hard drive, e.g. hd(0,0) is my first internal hard drive. What would the USB drive be...... sd(0,0)? Thanks in advance for any pointers. |
