Oh, crap.
Luckily I have a laptop as well so I can post.


I was running Ubuntu 5.1 on my desktop and had GRUB dual booting with XP. I wanted to put it back to strictly Windows on there so I used PartitionMagic to clean the rest of the HDD and make it just a solid partition of XP. Well everything was running fine and then I did some things that required a restart, just basic cleanup, nothing regarding Linux. So I finally restarted and now it will not boot. It goes to this...

Any solutions?

I found out that it means there's no such partition, well duh! lol I just deleted it. So now the work around begins, what do I do from here? My XP is still there, in spirit I suppose. lol I cant get to it right now, unless anyone has any ideas?

Just find your Windows XP install disk and boot to it. When it asks you what action you wish to take, select the Recovery Console <R>. It may ask you to select which installation of Windows to access. When you get a prompt, simply type `fixmbr', and Windows will make a new master boot record. Now, restart, and you should be up and running.
