hey all, this is the first time ive used linux since about 98 or so, and GRUB is new to me, but i remember lilo.
anyway, i have a stupid problem that im sure someone can answer quite easily.
i installed ubuntu on half of /dev/hda, when i already had a full XP on /dev/hdb, so when i installed grub, it added both of them. After this, I installed another XP on /dev/hda on the remaining free space, and of course, this overwrote grub, so i had to "apt-get grub install --reinstall" from a live CD. However, when i re-install grub (even though i wrote the new config files to the /boot on the hard drive and not the liveCD), it reads the old config files from /boot/grub or /etc/grub or where ever they are stored, and only gives me the option between booting from my ubuntu distro and /dev/hdb XP. i want to be able to boot the new XP on /dev/hda . im not really sure how to add this to grub, or to edit the config files manually. any help would be appreciated, and yes i RTFM and it is horrible. thanks.
