grub bootloader
 
hello everyone
i have linux installed on a partition and windows xp installed on another and grub asks u to choose on at startup.
the problem is that it automaticaly boots linux after a set amount of time, but i want it to boot windows.
does any1 know how i set windows to start up automatically?

Hi!

Could you please log onto your Linux system, and do the following: browse to the /boot/grub folder, and open the file grub.conf in any text editor. Copy and paste the stuff in there up onto here, and I'll change it for you! :D

small problem there there is no grub.conf file!im using ubuntu which i assume u know already...

Hmm...odd. Is there a menu.lst file?

If not, go to terminal, and type: "locate grub.conf". That should give you the whereabouts of the file. ;)

Try replacing the start of your file with this. This should work, your file is similar to grub.conf. This will change the default to the windows drive (because it is the 5th entry on your file). Hope this works.
