Grub bad after kernel upgrade

I'm using Suse 10.0 and all was working great until I did a yast update that patched my kernel. After the install I rebooted the machine and I got an error.

Error 13: Invalid or Unsupported exicutable format
I then booted up to the rescue CD and tried fixing the problem by mounting the partition and chrooting into it and running the grub commands to make another MBR and to match the menu.lst. Everything looks correct. My install is on /dev/hda2 and for grub it's (hd0,1) but I still get the same error.

The next thing that I did run yast while in the chroot but when I go into the System>>Boot Loader menu it errors and displays the following:

ERROR: Because of the boot partitioning, the bootloader cannot be installed properly.
How the heck did this happen? I don't have any other version of the kernel in the /boot directory so I can't go back. Any suggestions?

Nevermind... I'm going to rebuild back to Fedora after 8 months. I don't much like Suse anyway. I think this is a sign.
