Grub

I have installed the SUSE10.0 on an AMD64. It installs correctly up to asking for the ROOT password, that he doesn't do. It goes automatically into restart and then the message is

GRUB stage 1.5

Nothing more happens

So You need to rescue GRUB,try the suse first cd,it have the option to reinstall GRUB.otherwise u need to mount the partn using the cd,chrooted into the partn containing root /[which u can find by "fdisk -l"].after rescuing GRUB,reboot and press 'e' in the suse menu and select the 2nd line ie;the kernel path line and press 'e'.now at the end of the kernel line type 'single' and press enter.now press 'b' to boot into single user mode and type
Code:
cosmic:~# passwd root
give the password and exit for normal startup...Best of LUX
