Grow a ReiserFs partition

I have a 120gb drive, with a 16gb ReiserFS partition on it. I'd like to grow the partition to cover the entire drive, but Yast Partitioner won't let me do that since it's the partition I'm running linux on. Is there a way I can boot off a floppy and repartition the drive from there?

system rescue CD is a live gentoo installation with qt parted installed. If you boot off of this you wont have a problem with using the drive.

Okay, I'll try that.

Now I have another problem. I disabled my swap, and used partitioner to remove all the partitions on the drive (including swap) except for the Reiser partition. Now, when I try to boot up, I see a bunch of the usual startup messages, and then I get a message like:

mount: device not found
Kernel panic: attempting to kill init

And then it stalls, and I have to switch off the computer.

If I use that rescue CD, will I still be able to use the Suse that's already installed, or will I have to reinstall?

To answer your first question, there is a tool called 'resize_reiserfs'. I never used it, but it is referenced on the reiserfs home site www.namesys.com .

In reply to your last question, if your original installation was entirely in the reiserfs partition, everything should still be OK. Except maybe the boot process needs to be reconfigured.

I don't understand the mount failure tho'. Are you booting with GRUB? I wonder if deleting partitions upsets the GRUB configuration?
